The last 6 months for TBM have been interesting to say the least. We were ready to take on the 1st of the year with a positive attitude, solid team of professionals, and looking for much expansion within the year. After only a month into the year, we walked into the building only to find that it was literally raining inside the building. On January 30th 2020, Bethany arrived at the salon first to find that the toilet in the upstairs bathroom had water over flowing, which then flooded, and leaked into our hair suite and adjoining lobby. It was quite a shock to find the salon covered in water and then once we started digging into the initial clean up, we found a few more issues that we needed to address. You know how it goes with renovations….you never know what you’re going to find! We hadn’t planned to renovate our space this past winter, but the salon had other plans for us! Although the renovations were not on the agenda for this past winter, we took advantage of the opportunity to make improvements to their beloved salon space. We definitely wanted to maintain that homey, welcoming feel for our clients as they walk in to the salon. Creating a relaxing atmosphere for their salon experience is extremely important to us. We remember our client’s names, and make sure they are comfortable before they even see their stylist, esthetician, massage therapist, or nail tech. The hair suite was completely remodeled, as well as the flooring on the lower level. When you walk into the salon, you will see a refreshed space. The hallway flooring in the upstairs level will need to be replaced, but it was not a structural concern that required immediate attention in order to re-open. It was a lot of hard work but we finished in two weeks and reopened just in time for Valentines Day!
After working only a month after the “flood” fiasco, on March 14th 2020, we were met with a mandatory government shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ronni and Bethany wasted no time figuring out how to stay productive during the closure. Although times were uncertain, we reached out to our top mentors in the industry and decided to get to work!
Here’s what we accomplished during shut down: Finished training manuals, relaunched an entirely new and improved website, Implemented a guest communication platform, Upgraded our POS/Scheduling system to a new software, Finished many renovations that still needed done, Revamped our memberships and entire service menu, continued marketing and advertisement, Implemented a color measuring tool to avoid waste, Expanded our team of professionals, and much more.
It is our goal to continue to educate ourselves and our team to ensure we are providing the very best in Customer Service & Beauty/Wellness Services! Despite the obstacles that have been thrown at TBM, we can’t help but feel fortunate to find the blessings in all of the chaos. TBM can’t thank our guests enough for their patience during these past six months. Everyone has been so kind and supportive. We are so appreciative to have an amazing staff, families, guests, and community!
